Alicia Silverstone to Star in Clueless Sequel Series

Paramount+ has officially acquired the rights to the upcoming series based on the iconic 1990s cult classic Clueless, as reported by Variety.

While the project was originally slated for Peacock, the platform abandoned the initiative earlier this spring. The creative team remains intact, featuring writers Josh Schwartz (Nancy Drew), Stephanie Savage (Looking for Alaska), and Jordan Weiss (Freaky Friday 2).

Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her legendary role as Cher Horowitz. The narrative follows Cher, who has successfully balanced a thriving career with motherhood, only to find herself completely unprepared when her daughter enters the tumultuous teenage years.

The debut season is slated for a six-episode run, with production scheduled to commence in Los Angeles in 2027. Silverstone will also serve as an executive producer, working alongside Amy Heckerling, the original director of the 1995 film—a project famously inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma.
