On the night of Sunday to Monday, from 14th to 15th, Rockstar Games regained access to GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition in RGL. We had assumptions that all this would be delayed due to the weekend (released on Thursday, so that on Friday there was an opportunity to cover up, and by the weekend it would be “free”), but no.
In fact, the collection turned out to be too buggy and raw, but this was not the reason for R *’s chaotic actions. The company did not properly monitor the work of the contractor (the scammers from Grove Street Games), and users found a lot of interesting things among the files:
- original sources;
- comments from the developers of both the classic versions and the authors of the transfer (some took this for “permission” to create mods from GSG, but, obviously, the point is in someone’s curvature);
- the whole Cut music – it is only disabled by the script;
- traces prohibited by the copyright holder re3 and reVC – we wrote about this development when we covered the Take-Two lawsuit, it was a requirement “to get access to all information about downloads and even to all files that the ‘reverse engineering’ team was working on”;
- remnants of a scandalous fashion Hot coffee, but it is “impossible” to use it.
All of this had to be cleaned up by Rockstar Games over the weekend. Now in RGL, you can exit offline mode and download updates for the “final edition”:
- for GTA 3 – 4 gigabytes,
- for GTA: Vice City – 9 GB,
- for GTA: San Andreas – 18 GB.
