As her longtime partner and father to her three children, A$AP Rocky possesses a unique perspective on the evolution of Rihanna—the business mogul and global icon—as well as the core qualities that have remained constant throughout her journey.

In a feature for W Magazine published Tuesday (April 21), the rapper joined a chorus of voices offering insights into the singer’s character. Discussing their shared love for cinema—specifically the 2007 Héctor Lavoe biopic El Cantante—Rocky noted how significantly motherhood has shaped her. “She has grown immensely,” he observed, “simply because she stepped into the role of a mother during that time.”

“Parenthood is a profound transition,” Rocky added. “Yet, there has always been a sense of magic to her. Her philosophical approach to life is on another frequency. She is arguably the most genuine and magnetic person on the planet. Her aura is singular and completely authentic. I am simply in awe of her.”

Rihanna and Rocky transitioned from longtime friends in the early 2010s to a romantic partnership around 2020. They welcomed their first son, RZA, in 2022, followed by Riot Rose the following year. Last September, their family grew once more with the arrival of their daughter, Rocki, who appears alongside her mother in the new W feature.

The tribute was further enriched by luminaries like Mariah Carey and SZA, both of whom share deep-rooted connections with the Barbadian superstar. Carey, who met Rihanna through their mutual friend Jay-Z, described her as a true “girl’s girl.” She fondly recalled the viral 2024 encounter where Rihanna had Carey autograph her chest at a concert. “It was a bit unconventional,” Carey laughed, “but I found it absolutely hilarious and brilliant.”

SZA also chimed in with a testament to Rihanna’s supportive nature. Reflecting on their 2016 Brit Awards appearance, the R&B singer shared, “I was a newcomer and felt completely out of my element. It was suggested I wear a simple curtain to blend into the background, but when I told Rihanna, she shut it down immediately. She told me, ‘Absolutely not! We need you looking stunning.’ She insisted I choose an outfit I truly loved.”
