11 Bosses and Time Travel: Hexi Expansion Details for Where Winds Meet

Everstone Studio has unveiled the “Hexi Expansion,” the most significant content update for Where Winds Meet to date. The first installment, titled Jade Gate Pass, is scheduled to launch on March 5, 2026. This expansion will introduce three massive world maps—one for each chapter—along with nearly 20 intricate sub-regions for players to explore.

The update features 11 formidable new bosses and dozens of side stories. Set during the Tang Dynasty, the journey begins in the arid reaches of Jade Gate Pass, where players can master two unique abilities: Sand Race for swift desert traversal and Cosmic Reversal, a time-bending skill used to restore ancient ruins. In Whitecrown City, warriors will face off against Gao Xin and encounter the mysterious Wandering Ark as it drifts through the dunes.

Combat evolves with the introduction of two distinct fighting styles: Spring Dreamscape, which utilizes an umbrella, and Fleeting Clouds, centered on the rope dart. The former is designed for “infinite combos” in confined spaces or group skirmishes, while the latter focuses on wide-reaching area-of-effect damage. Additionally, the Heng Blade—a weapon favoring a more defensive and strategic playstyle—is slated to arrive in April.

That same month, the Liangzhou chapter will debut, featuring a rugged, snow-capped mountain environment. The expansion’s narrative arc will culminate in a third chapter, transporting players to the ethereal realm of Qinchuan, located within the mystical Painting Realm scroll.
