Yung Miami emerged as one of the few high-profile figures to remain steadfast in her support of Sean “Diddy” Combs following his 2025 conviction on prostitution-related charges, which stemmed from a high-stakes federal trial involving racketeering and sex-trafficking allegations.

In a move that sparked significant public debate, the former City Girls standout penned a formal letter to the court, advocating for leniency before Diddy’s sentencing last July. Nearly a year after that legal battle concluded, Miami sat down with Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club to clarify her stance, suggesting that the man she was involved with between 2021 and 2023 was a “reformed” version of the hip-hop mogul.

“The person I encountered and shared a life with felt like a changed man,” she remarked during the interview released on Tuesday. “I’m not here to excuse or validate any wrongdoing, but my personal experience was entirely different. That’s the reality that prompted me to write that letter.”

She further explained that she could only testify to the character she witnessed firsthand. “I can’t speak on things I wasn’t a part of or didn’t see,” Miami added. “I can only judge the man who treated me with respect, helped me evolve as an individual, and made me believe in my own potential. I’m speaking on the relationship I actually lived.”

In October, following a grueling seven-week trial, Diddy was sentenced to four years in federal prison. While a jury convicted him of transporting individuals across state lines for his notorious “freak-off” parties, he was acquitted of more severe charges, including sex trafficking and leading a criminal enterprise—allegations he has consistently denied.

Before the sentence was handed down, Miami’s letter emphasized her belief that Combs posed no threat to the public. She noted that while she could not “condone past transgressions,” she found him to be a consistently supportive and encouraging partner during their time together.

Reflecting on the professional fallout—which included the loss of lucrative brand partnerships and a wave of public criticism—the Florida-born rapper discussed the complexities of loyalty. “You have to eventually ask yourself what makes sense for your own life,” she admitted. “You can love someone deeply but realize you need to maintain that love from a distance while you figure things out. This was definitely one of those moments.”
