Obsidian Entertainment’s first-person fantasy epic, Avowed, is officially expanding its horizons. Originally released as an Xbox and PC exclusive, the acclaimed RPG is set to make its debut on the PlayStation 5. The title is scheduled to arrive on Sony’s console on February 17, landing just one day prior to its first anniversary.
Players looking to dive into the Living Lands can choose between two versions. The Standard Edition will be priced at $49.99. For those seeking a more comprehensive package, the Premium Edition is available for $59.99 and includes a digital artbook, the original soundtrack, two unique player armor sets, and eight companion skins.
The PlayStation 5 launch coincides with a significant anniversary update available across all platforms. This update introduces several highly requested features, including a New Game Plus mode and a dedicated Photo Mode. Furthermore, players will have more options for character customization with the addition of new playable races—Dwarves, Orlan, and Aumaua—alongside an entirely new weapon category to master.
According to the developers at Obsidian, the game invites players to explore a world “shaped by ancient magic,” where they must “traverse its wilds, reveal hidden truths, and delve into secrets buried beneath its surface.” The gameplay focuses on player agency, rewarding creativity through a versatile combat system that lets you experiment with various powers and abilities.
