Suspect in Custody After Opening Fire on Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Los Angeles Estate

A 30-year-old woman was apprehended on Sunday afternoon after allegedly discharging a firearm at the Los Angeles residence of music icons Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. According to reports from the Los Angeles Times, police units responded to a call regarding active gunfire at approximately 1:21 p.m. on March 8.

Witness accounts suggest that at least ten rounds were fired from a white Tesla parked across from the estate’s main entrance. While several bullets struck the property’s security gate and a recreational vehicle parked in the driveway, one round managed to penetrate a wall of the primary mansion. Despite the violence of the incident, no injuries were reported. Sources indicate that Rihanna was home at the time of the shooting.

Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene in the Tesla. Authorities described the woman as having braided hair and wearing a cream-colored top. An LAPD helicopter successfully tracked the vehicle to a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where the suspect was taken into custody roughly 30 minutes after the initial emergency call.

“During the traffic stop and subsequent arrest, officers searched the vehicle and discovered an assault rifle along with seven spent shell casings,” LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias told the Times. NBC News later reported that the weapon recovered was an AR-15-style rifle.

The couple shares the home with their three young children, though it has not been confirmed if the entire family was present during the ordeal. This security breach is the latest in a series of incidents involving the pop superstar’s properties; in 2018, a stalker was arrested after spending 12 hours inside her Hollywood Hills home before being discovered by staff.

Law enforcement officials have not yet released the identity of the shooter or a potential motive for the attack. Representatives for Rihanna have not issued a formal comment regarding the incident.
