Will Ghost of Yotei Impress on the Standard PS5? Comparison with the PS5 Pro Version
Ghost of Yotei is one of the titles that leverages the enhanced capabilities of the PS5 Pro. The question is: have the developers delivered a meaningful improvement over the standard PlayStation 5?
According to the blogger ElAnalistaDeBits, the base PS5 offers three display modes while the Pro provides four. In Quality mode both systems run at 2160p and 30 frames per second. However, in Performance mode the difference becomes clear: the standard PS5 drops resolution to roughly 1440p–1080p, whereas the Pro holds around 1800p–1440p while maintaining a stable 60 fps.
There is also a ray-tracing mode — 30 fps with improved global illumination, more natural shadows and enhanced ambient occlusion. The PS5 Pro adds an exclusive Ray-Tracing Pro option: up to 60 fps, PSSR support and a crisper image at approximately 1440p–1080p.
As for stability, Ghost of Yotei runs confidently. Minor fps dips are only noticeable in Performance mode on the standard PS5 and do not affect gameplay. The engine’s optimisation is of a high standard.
