With Halloween formally behind us, the holiday is currently industrious — therefore is Kelly Clarkson‘s day-to-day Kellyoke sector on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The American Idol alum, that previously today sank her teeth into a cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire,” exchanged the creepy feelings for something much lighter and jazzier, providing her one-of-a-kind take on Rosemary Clooney’s 1954 track “Love—You Didn’t Do Right by Me” on Friday (Nov. 3).
Her band Y’all — that included a pianist, drummer, cellist and bass guitar player this moment about — adhered to Clarkson’s vocals easily as she struck the track’s rising high notes and provided unique interest throughout minutes that placed her magnificent vibrato on screen.
“Love you didn’t do right by me/ I’m back on the shelf and I’m blaming myself but it’s you/ My one love affair didn’t get anywhere from the start/ To send me a Joe who had winter and snow in his heart wasn’t smart/ Love You didn’t do right by me/ As they say in the song…you done me wrong,” she naturally sang on the carolers of the track.
The track was created by Irving Berlin for the 1954 American music movie White Christmas and was carried out by Clooney in the vacation flick. The Christmas standard was routed by Michael Curtiz and starred Bing Crosby, that added the title track to the soundtrack.
Clarkson’s most recent Kellyoke works as a workout for her following job as host and performer at NBC’s annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center telecast. The program is slated to air on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and will certainly stream on Peacock.
