While the Warhammer universe has spawned a massive library of digital titles, the vast majority anchor themselves in the gritty, industrial future of Warhammer 40,000. Devotees of the franchise’s classic fantasy roots—or the expanded scope of Age of Sigmar—have historically found themselves underserved, especially following the underwhelming 2023 release of Realms of Ruin. Fortunately, the tide is turning with the announcement of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster, a title that promises to break the mold.
Unveiled during the latest Warhammer Skulls showcase, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is a stylized 2D side-scrolling action platformer slated for a 2027 release. Developed by Old Skull Games—the studio behind Valiant Hearts: Coming Home—and published by Dotemu, the game puts players in the cowl of Vihneek, a lethal operative of the Skaven Eshin clan, as he climbs the treacherous, blood-soaked hierarchy of his kin.
