Through 2025 to date, ten distinct singles from 15 artists have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
For context, the chart saw 18 different leaders in 2024 and 19 in 2023, underscoring how concentrated
this year’s summit positions have been.
Several tracks enjoyed extended runs at the top. Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s collaboration “Luther,” taken
from Lamar’s 2024 album GNX, spent an impressive 13 weeks at No. 1. Lamar’s own “Not Like Us”
also returned to the summit after his Super Bowl halftime appearance. Former TikTok star Alex Warren’s
viral single “Ordinary,” from his 2025 debut You’ll Be Alright, Kid, led the chart for 10 weeks.
The theatrical K-pop project credited to HUNTR/X (performers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami) ruled for eight
weeks with “Golden.” Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” remains at No. 1 with six weeks and counting,
while Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ duet “Die With a Smile” — released in August 2024 — reached the top in
2025 and totaled five nonconsecutive weeks.
Several artists added to their totals of Hot 100 leaders this year. “The Fate of Ophelia” marked Taylor Swift’s
13th No. 1; “Die With a Smile” became Bruno Mars’ ninth and Lady Gaga’s sixth. “Luther” raised Kendrick Lamar’s
tally to six and SZA’s to three. Travis Scott’s “4X4” is his fifth Hot 100 leader; Morgan Wallen’s collaboration
“What I Want” is his fourth; Sabrina Carpenter notched her second with “Manchild.” Alex Warren, Tate McRae —
who duetted with Wallen on “What I Want” — and the Demon Hunters collective each earned their first No. 1.
For historical comparison, Mariah Carey’s perennial holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has totaled
18 weeks at No. 1 across multiple years.
