Victoria and David Beckham Send Birthday Wishes to Brooklyn Amid Family Tension
Despite the high-profile friction currently clouding the Beckham family dynamics, Victoria and David Beckham took a moment to publicly honor their eldest son, Brooklyn, on his 27th birthday this Wednesday, March 4.
The fashion mogul and Spice Girls alumna utilized Instagram Stories to share a glimpse into the family’s past. Victoria posted a nostalgic image of the couple in a swimming pool with Brooklyn as an infant, captioned with a heartfelt message: “Happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much.” She followed this with a second tribute featuring a photo of herself as a young mother with her baby boy, again emphasizing her love with a series of red heart emojis.
David Beckham mirrored these sentiments, sharing the same poolside throwback to mark his son’s milestone. “27 today,” the football legend wrote, accompanied by an emotional emoji. In a subsequent post, David shared a photo from Brooklyn’s elementary school years, addressing him by the affectionate family nickname “Bust” and adding, “Love you x.”
While these tributes suggest a parental olive branch, the relationship remains complex. Rumors of a deep-seated rift between Brooklyn, his wife Nicola Peltz, and the elder Beckhams have circulated for years. These tensions were largely confirmed in January when Brooklyn released a series of pointed Instagram Stories addressing his decision to distance himself from his parents.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn shared at the time. He accused his parents’ professional teams of manipulating media narratives, stating that he felt forced to “tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.” He concluded the statement by clarifying that he was not seeking a reconciliation and was instead focused on standing up for his own independence.
The discord reportedly intensified following Brooklyn and Nicola’s high-society wedding in April 2022. The divide became even more apparent when Victoria and David were absent from the couple’s vow renewal in August 2025. Furthermore, Brooklyn was notably the only Beckham child missing from David’s 50th birthday festivities last year, an event attended by siblings Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
