Donnie Wahlberg said he and the others on board were unhurt after their plane skidded off a runway at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Sunday (Oct. 18).

In an Instagram video posted that night, the New Kids on the Block member filmed himself on the ground outside the airport while officials addressed the situation behind him. The airport had announced on X that a “general aviation aircraft” had “skid off” one of its runways and “made contact with the perimeter fence.”

“We’re all OK. I’m OK,” Wahlberg said in the clip. “We were taking off and didn’t get up in the air and ran out of runway. These pilots saved our lives, and God covered us.”

The singer and actor also showed viewers a cluster of trucks and a dumpster that he said the plane had avoided as it veered off the runway.

“Getting a lot of concerned messages and texts about my flights failed attempt at leaving Las Vegas this morning,” Wahlberg wrote in his caption. “I appreciate your concern and well wishes. I made this video for my friends and family, after the incident, but so many of you all are my family too so I figured I’d share with you. Yes, it was me and my team/friends onboard the aircraft. It was a rather intense few moments (which felt like a few long minutes).”

“Thankful to God, of course, and to our incredible pilots who did an amazing job of keeping us safe and avoiding a serious disaster,” he added. “The airplane did take some lumps — but we did not. Thank you to all the emergency personnel on the ground in Las Vegas! You all were absolutely wonderful.”

According to CBS News, the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the pilot aborted takeoff as the plane was preparing to fly to Toronto. The reason for the aborted takeoff is still under investigation.

The incident came one day after Wahlberg and his NKOTB bandmates wrapped their Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Saturday (Oct. 17). The group last released an album in 2024. That album, Still Kids, reached No. 56 on the Billboard 200 and was the group’s first LP in more than a decade.
