Director Uwe Boll suggested that Alone in the Dark may return to theaters. He reclaimed the rights to the franchise and is currently negotiating with Hollywood producers regarding a new film.
Players often associate Uwe Boll with game adaptations that received poor reviews. He directed House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and several other projects that faced heavy criticism. The 2005 version of Alone in the Dark, which starred Christian Slater, Tara Reid, and Stephen Dorff, is perhaps the most notable example.
The 2005 movie failed at the box office and earned negative viewer ratings, grossing roughly 12.6 million dollars. Despite these results, Boll claims the film gained a cult following over time.
In an interview with LRM, the director explained that he wants to revisit the franchise. He is working with producers to develop a new project. Boll also noted that screenings of his older films still attract audiences at festivals.
