The 2005 version of Alone in the Dark, which starred Christian Slater, Tara Reid, and Stephen Dorff, is perhaps the most notable example.
The 2005 movie failed at the box office and earned negative viewer ratings, grossing roughly 12.6 million dollars. Despite these results, Boll claims the film gained a cult following over time.
