Original Report — July 27, 2026, at 3:03 PM EST: Xbox is currently grappling with a substantial network outage, occurring just days after a similar disruption hit the PlayStation Network. Players have reported encountering roadblocks when attempting to launch digital titles, log into their profiles, or navigate the Xbox Marketplace.
The disturbances first emerged late last night at 11:10 PM EST. According to the Xbox Status platform—which received its most recent update at 2:48 PM EST—engineers are actively working to restore full functionality.
The current disruption impacts multiple generations of hardware, including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and backward-compatible titles. Below is an overview of the affected categories and the official descriptions provided for each issue:
- Account & Profile: Users may experience difficulties signing into their profiles, suffer unexpected disconnections while active, or lose access to profile-dependent features such as social integration, applications, and the majority of games.
- Store & Subscriptions: The digital storefront may occasionally fail to display specific titles or subscription details during browsing.
- Games & Gaming: Players might encounter roadblocks or error messages when trying to boot up digitally owned games.
- Apps & Mobile: Launching streaming services or companion applications may prove inconsistent or unsuccessful.
It is worth noting that these server issues do not appear to impact every user or title uniformly. During our initial checks on an Xbox Series X, we were able to successfully sign in and launch several natively owned games as well as Game Pass titles without interruption. Nonetheless, if you are planning an extended gaming session over the next few hours, it is wise to monitor the situation closely.
