Ubisoft’s recent revival of the beloved 2013 pirate epic through Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has naturally sparked curiosity among the fanbase regarding future remakes. Back in 2024, CEO Yves Guillemot fueled these aspirations by noting that players could look forward to reimagined classics designed to modernize past releases.

Addressing the community on Thursday, Ubisoft offered transparency concerning the trajectory of the franchise while acknowledging the heavy demand for additional overhauls. “One thing we want to be transparent about today is that we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development,” the publisher stated. “Our teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects you haven’t heard about yet, featuring new settings and stories.”

Even so, the absence of an active project doesn’t mean the concept has been permanently shelved. “Like many of you, we love the idea of revisiting our classic titles, and we’ll keep exploring opportunities to bring older titles back. That door remains open because, after all… Nothing is true, everything is permitted,” the team noted, echoing the iconic creed.

Ubisoft currently has multiple projects in the pipeline. Assassin’s Creed Invictus, the upcoming multiplayer PvP experience, recently underwent a closed playtest granting numerous participants an early hands-on session. “The response to the return of PvP multiplayer was very positive,” Ubisoft remarked, adding that player feedback emphasized a desire for more core franchise pillars, prompting developers to spend recent months incorporating those adjustments.

Meanwhile, Codename Hexe is quietly moving forward, though the studio remains tight-lipped. Progress on this atmospheric and much darker experience is ongoing, though major announcements aren’t expected until sometime in 2027. Alongside these details, the studio dropped an enigmatic, context-free teaser for Codename Hexe:

ZKLWAVN MBEXNK ULYCNJ… LWY01… I#########F

// QNTMAKHX TWTEMZL. YSIZKQ AADSWX NFAAMPHP.//

While the meaning remains entirely obscure, it’s bound to spark intense speculation among dedicated theorists. With the franchise’s 20th anniversary arriving next year, Ubisoft plans to unveil further celebration details in the upcoming months.
