Travis Kelce’s Subtle Tribute to Taylor Swift at the NFL Honors Afterparty

Travis Kelce Pays Homage to Taylor Swift with Surprise DJ Set at NFL Honors Afterparty
Taylor Swift may have been absent from the 2026 NFL Honors ceremony, but Travis Kelce ensured her presence was felt. The Kansas City Chiefs star found a rhythmic way to celebrate his superstar fiancée, proving that even when they are apart, they remain perfectly in sync.
Following the prestigious awards gala on Thursday, February 5—where Kelce was recognized as one of 32 nominees for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award—the New Heights host headed to a vibrant afterparty organized by Tight End University. With the electronic duo Loud Luxury commanding the decks, Kelce eventually took center stage in the DJ booth, seizing the opportunity to spin one of Swift’s most iconic tracks.
Social media footage from the San Francisco event captured Kelce in high spirits, singing along and dancing to a high-energy remix of Swift’s Hot 100 chart-topper, “The Fate of Ophelia.” At one point, the football pro even tried his hand at scratching the turntables, much to the delight of the crowd. Loud Luxury further documented the night on Instagram, sharing clips of Kelce catching a groove behind the mixer.
The festivities took place at Public Works, just a short distance from the Palace of Fine Arts where the official ceremony was held. While Kelce was celebrated for his off-field contributions, the evening’s top honor, Man of the Year, was ultimately awarded to Bobby Wagner of the Washington Commanders. In a display of sportsmanship, the Chiefs shared a video showing Kelce warmly congratulating Wagner backstage.
While Kelce was busy celebrating with his league peers, Swift was focused on her latest creative endeavor: the premiere of her “Opalite” music video. This visual marks the second release from her Billboard 200-topping masterpiece, The Life of a Showgirl. The cinematic project features a star-studded ensemble, including Domhnall Gleeson, Graham Norton, Greta Lee, and Lewis Capaldi—all of whom famously shared the couch with Swift during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show last October.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Swift shared a heartfelt note on Instagram: “I remember thinking I got ridiculously lucky with the group I was paired with. These are all artists whose work I have admired from afar for years.”
Swift explained that the concept was born from a serendipitous moment during the talk show. “During the broadcast, Domhnall made a playful remark about wanting to be in one of my videos. He was joking, of course, but the idea instantly took root in my mind. A week later, he had a script in his inbox for ‘Opalite,’ with him in the leading role.”
