On Wednesday, May 6, TME Chart officially unveiled its prestigious “30 Under 30” list, spotlighting the most promising young vocalists in China. This year’s edition marks a significant evolution for the initiative, featuring an enhanced evaluation framework designed to better capture the rising stars defining the contemporary Chinese music landscape.

The selection process synthesized robust performance metrics from the TME Uni Chart and TME Wave Chart with active public participation. By blending objective data with fan sentiment across diverse categories, the initiative pinpointed 30 artists who demonstrate both exceptional artistic merit and substantial growth potential.

Leading the pack in their respective age brackets are Lars Huang, who topped the Core Group; Yu Zi, who commanded the Pioneer Group; and Zhicheng Mu, who secured the top spot in the Rising Star Group.

To provide a structured overview of the industry’s talent pipeline, honorees were organized by birth year: the Core Group (1996–1999), the Pioneer Group (2000–2005), and the Rising Star Group (2006 and later). This tiered approach offers a clear snapshot of artists at various career stages, while the integration of public voting ensures that the voices and tastes of real-world listeners remain at the heart of the selection.

Since its inception, the TME Chart “30 Under 30” has solidified its reputation as a vital barometer for emerging talent within China’s music sector. Grounded in a commitment to professionalism, diversity, and integrity, the program encourages young musicians to push creative boundaries, embrace innovation, and foster a positive cultural impact through their craft.
