The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Heading to Nintendo Switch 2

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Switch 2

During this morning’s Nintendo Direct, the showcase culminated in the surprise announcement of several Bethesda heavyweights heading to the Switch 2. Alongside the arrival of Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Nintendo confirmed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will be making its debut on the platform—marking the first time the acclaimed RPG has ever appeared on a Nintendo system.

Originally released in April 2025, this project is effectively a full-scale remake despite the “remaster” moniker. The 2006 classic has been entirely reconstructed within Unreal Engine 5, featuring a modernized user interface and significant technical overhauls to core systems, including refined hit detection and enhanced visual effects. This edition also comes fully loaded with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions.
