The announcement comes from Bungie’s technical help crew on Twitter. The beta will now finish at 18:00 Pacific tomorrow (Tuesday, 25 July). That’s 02:00 on Wednesday morning, for us within the UK.
The Destiny 2 Open Beta has been prolonged by Tuesday 7/25 for extra service testing. Expected completion is 6 PM PDT.

But do not anticipate it to be clean: Bungie say they will be doing a little testing on their aspect, which can lead to errors or different uneven waters.
