Amazon is set to host special theatrical screenings of the series finale of “The Boys” across major cinemas in the United States, according to recent reports. The exclusive events are scheduled for May 19.
Attendees will experience the episode in the immersive 4DX format, which heightens the viewing experience through synchronized seat motion, vibrations, water effects, and more. The finale will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting May 20.
This initiative follows in the footsteps of Netflix, which previously organized theatrical releases for series finales, such as the conclusion of “Stranger Things”—an episode that generated over $25 million at the U.S. box office.
“The Boys” spanned five seasons, chronicling the intense conflict between vigilantes and corrupt superheroes. The cast featured stars such as Karl Urban, Antony Starr, and Jack Quaid, with the series created by Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”).
