Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have officially embarked on their greatest adventure yet, exchanging vows in an intimate ceremony at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden this past Friday, July 3. A celebratory announcement displayed outside the legendary venue confirmed the long-awaited union of the music superstar and the NFL standout.
A representative for Swift formally confirmed the joyous occasion to People.
The couple’s wedding follows nearly a year of anticipation since they announced their engagement. In August 2025, the pair shared a glimpse of their romance via social media, posting photos from the Kansas City Chiefs star’s garden proposal—highlighted by Swift’s dazzling engagement ring—with the playful caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Speculation surrounding the ceremony reached a fever pitch throughout June, as reports suggested the couple would claim Madison Square Garden as their venue for the Fourth of July weekend. The event was further underscored by a historic NYC heatwave, prompting city officials to playfully praise the pair for choosing an indoor setting to escape the record-breaking temperatures.
Since their relationship began in the summer of 2023, the duo has become a global cultural phenomenon. Following a candid admission on his New Heights podcast regarding a missed connection at one of Swift’s tour stops, the two found their way to each other with the encouragement of family and have remained inseparable ever since. From Swift’s frequent appearances in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium to Kelce’s surprise stage cameos during her international tour dates, the pair has been refreshingly open about their commitment.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, and we simply don’t care about the noise,” Swift shared in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year interview. “We’re just proud of each other.”
Their musical journey has been equally intertwined, with Swift referencing their romance in tracks like “So High School” and “The Alchemy” from her blockbuster album The Tortured Poets Department, as well as recent chart-toppers from her latest project, The Life of a Showgirl.
As they transition into this new chapter of life together, the couple continues their tradition of generosity. Just one day prior to the wedding, it was announced that Swift and Kelce had donated $26 million to various charitable organizations, focusing on cities that have played pivotal roles in their respective careers and personal histories.
