Tate McRae manages stage fright by picturing pop heroes like Michael Jackson beside her until her pre-show nerves fade.

In her W cover story published Tuesday (Oct. 13), the pop star discussed intuitive abilities she shares with her mother. She told the publication that her mother is a witch and highly intuitive, adding that she is a witch too.

Her reported powers include seeing things in dreams, predicting outcomes, and reading people’s energies. *W* also reported that McRae pictures idols like Michael Jackson standing beside her before going on stage.

“I usually black out on stage, but something comes through me,” she shared, noting that her 2026 set at Lollapalooza, where she covered herself in gold paint, caused significant anxiety.

“I have one chance to do this correctly,” she recalled thinking before the golden moment, adding that every intrusive thought crosses the brain.
