Ubisoft had pledged a 2026 launch for the title, but that timeline now appears uncertain.
It seems the Splinter Cell remake—originally scheduled by Ubisoft for a 2026 release—has encountered additional setbacks.
Ubisoft Toronto is searching for a new game director for the project. According to the job posting, the successful candidate will be responsible for core aspects of the title, including gameplay systems, gadget integration, and non-player character (NPC) behavior.
This isn’t the first time the remake has been left without a director: in 2022 David Grivel, a ten-year Ubisoft veteran, departed the company, leaving the project leaderless just months after it was revealed.
