Spaceborn: Awakening Shows Campaign-Driven Progression in a New Gameplay Trailer
ProtoGames has released a gameplay trailer for Spaceborn: Awakening, a bullet-heaven roguelite planned for Steam later in 2026. A free demo is already available.
The game begins with an ordinary crew member and gradually unlocks much larger powers. Completing story chapters opens class awakenings and additional features that feed into later runs.
A campaign that unlocks the arsenal
Developer Stathis Aposporis describes the narrative as the progression system itself. As players advance through the first Spaceborn’s story, weapons evolve and the range of available builds expands.
The trailer shows swarms of corrupted enemies and increasingly destructive abilities. Once the campaign has opened more of the arsenal, Survival and Endless modes provide further opportunities to test builds.
The setting revolves around a cosmic force seeking balance and the conflict between Spaceborns and Voidborns. Awakening serves as a prequel focused on the first major confrontation, including the antagonist Voss Praetor.
The announcement gives a 2026 release window but no specific launch day. ProtoGames is led by Aposporis, with art and music contributions from colleagues and friends.
