Sharon Osbourne Describes Ozzy’s Last Night: “Kiss Me… Hug Me Tight”

Sharon Osbourne has opened up about the final hours she spent with her husband, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, recalling a night marked by tenderness and the sharp-witted banter fans came to love on their early‑2000s reality show, The Osbournes. Her account came during an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Sharon said Ozzy was restless through the night, repeatedly getting up to use the bathroom. Around 4:30 a.m. he urged her to “wake up!” to which she snapped back, “I’m already bloody awake! You’ve woken me up!” — a small, familiar exchange that underscored how ordinary and intimate their final hours together felt.
In a moment Sharon described as heartbreakingly simple, Ozzy asked her to “kiss me… Hug me tight,” which she says were his last words to her before he passed later that day. Reflecting on that exchange, Sharon admitted she was left with deep regret: “If only I’d have told him I loved him more,” and “If only I’d have held him tighter.”
According to Sharon, Ozzy managed to sleep through the night, rose the next morning and went downstairs for his usual workout; he died about half an hour later. She said she knew immediately something was wrong when she heard screaming, ran downstairs and found people attempting to resuscitate him. Despite frantic efforts and a subsequent helicopter transfer to the hospital, she realized he was gone.
In the days before his death, Sharon recalled that Ozzy had described a repeating dream in which he was “walking and walking” past people he didn’t know who remained silent — a vision that, she said, left him feeling ready.
Sharon also revealed that a physician warned Ozzy that performing at what would become his final concert — the Back to the Beginning tribute in Birmingham on July 5 — could be too much, bluntly telling them, “that’s it… you’re not gonna get through it.”
During the interview she credited their children with sustaining her through the grief and addressed recent online remarks about daughter Kelly’s appearance, as well as negative comments from Roger Waters about Ozzy’s music and life following his passing.
