Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley have filed for divorce after three years of marriage, Billboard can confirm.
Court records show that the 14-time Grammy-winning producer and Substance star jointly filed for an uncontested, pre-packaged divorce settlement on Friday, Oct. 30. This development arrives about three months after their July separation went public, which followed breakup rumors that began when Antonoff attended Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce alongside his sister Rachel Antonoff instead of Qualley.
Billboard has reached out to representatives for Antonoff and Qualley for comment.
In recent weeks, the Bleachers frontman has addressed the split both on and off the stage. When a fan asked him to perform the 2017 song “Let’s Get Married” during a September concert in Los Angeles, Antonoff joked, “Read the news, brother.” Earlier in October, he told The Guardian that he initially felt worried about performing songs written about Qualley on tour following their breakup, but he has since discovered that doing so feels really beautiful.
Antonoff and Qualley were first spotted kissing in 2021, four years after his 2017 split from Girls creator Lena Dunham. The musician and The Maid actress made their official debut at the AFI Awards Luncheon in 2022 and married in August 2023 during a ceremony in Antonoff’s native New Jersey. Guests included Swift, Lana Del Rey, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne, and the bride’s mother, actress Andie MacDowell.
In August 2025, Antonoff released the soundtrack for director Ethan Coen’s dark comedy Honey Don’t!, which co-starred Qualley and Aubrey Plaza. The project marked the first time Antonoff worked on music for a film featuring his wife, who contributed to the album under her musical alter ego, Lace Manhattan. Qualley also inspired “Margaret,” a love song from Lana Del Rey’s 2023 album Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd., which Antonoff co-wrote and co-produced.
During an interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show earlier this year, Antonoff likened their romance to a romantic film, stating he knew he would marry Qualley the moment they met at a party in 2021. “I saw her and it was like a f—ing Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable,” he told Stern. “When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.”
Antonoff added that he proposed to Qualley while they lived in Paris and requested a blessing from her sister, actress and singer Rainey Qualley, who records under the name Rainsford.
Earlier this year, Qualley made a lingerie appearance in the music video for the Bleachers track “You and Forever” from the album Everyone for Ten Minutes. The visual features Qualley dancing in a white negligee in a window while Antonoff walks down the street mutbling to himself. Qualley, who trained as a ballet dancer during her teens, also spins and twirls in a form-fitting black dress alongside footage of an agitated Antonoff crawling down a city street during a rainstorm.
Qualley previously appeared in the 2024 music video for the Bleachers song “Tiny Moves,” which she choreographed, co-directed, and filmed weeks before their wedding. Before news of their split emerged this summer, fans noticed that Qualley appeared to have removed wedding photos from her Instagram feed.
