SEGA Casts Charlie Cox in New Game Despite Initial Preference for American Actor
The project does not even have an official title yet.
Actor Charlie Cox, known for playing Daredevil in Marvel projects, has confirmed that he is working on an unannounced game from SEGA.
Cox did not share details about the project, but he did tell an amusing story about how the work began. According to the actor, when he first arrived for a recording session, team members unexpectedly discovered that he is from England even though they expected an American accent.
I went to the first meeting, and everyone saw me for the first time. They offered me this game, and I said yes. Then I had about 40 hours of material to record or something like that. On the first day, I walked in and said hello to everyone: “Hey guys! Great to meet you! How are you doing?” And then everyone reacted like, “Oh… so he’s English.” They were hoping I would be American. And now I had to record 40 hours of lines prepared for an American accent.
Previously, Cox participated in the development of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, where he voiced Gustave, one of the central characters who introduces the player to the events of the opening chapters.
