Kingdom Come Creator Explains Why AI Is Needed in Games
Warhorse CEO Martin Frývaldský believes that time and resources saved through artificial intelligence can be invested in additional content rather than staff reductions.
Warhorse Studios head Martin Frývaldský believes that AI should not replace developers. When used correctly, the technology will make it possible to create significantly larger games for the same money.
Frývaldský completely rejects the idea of mass replacement of employees with generative AI. According to him, the technology will not become a “magic solution” that allows games to be created without human participation.
It is much more interesting, the Warhorse head believes, to use AI as a tool to expand the team’s capabilities. Automating individual processes will free up time and resources for developers to create additional content: more branching paths, classes, and quests.

This approach could prove especially useful for large role-playing games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Instead of reducing production costs, AI will make it possible to increase the scale of the game within the same budget.
Hideo Kojima previously expressed a similar position. He also views AI as a tool, but opposes its use to deprive artists of work. As the technology develops, the industry will increasingly have to decide where helping developers ends and attempting to replace them begins.
