Academy Award nominees Sebastian Stan and Ana de Armas have been cast as the leads in the upcoming political thriller Impunity, as reported by Variety.
Set in late 1990s London, the narrative centers on the arrest of former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, whose diplomatic immunity is under threat. A mercenary working for an NGO and a Chilean representative become embroiled in the high-stakes legal battle, plunging them into a treacherous world of international espionage.
The film is directed by Chilean filmmaker Felipe Gálvez (known for The Settlers). Principal photography for Impunity has already wrapped, though a release date has yet to be announced.
Stan is set to appear in the festival drama Fjord, which is premiering at Cannes, while de Armas is currently filming the spy series Covert for Apple TV.
