We are thrilled to return with another installment of SCS On The Road! This latest adventure took our team across the Atlantic to Dublin, Virginia, where we visited the Volvo Trucks Customer Center to get an up-close look at the state-of-the-art Volvo VNL. Throughout our visit, we gathered essential reference materials, consulted directly with industry experts, and even hopped in the driver’s seat for a test drive.

Join Nemiro, Oscar, Ondřej, and Matěj as they explore one of the most sophisticated vehicles in the Volvo Trucks North America lineup. From capturing high-fidelity photography and video to recording authentic audio and interior nuances, our team spared no effort to ensure the all-new Volvo VNL is recreated with maximum precision for our players. Best of all, you can already experience this powerhouse yourself, as the Volvo VNL has officially arrived in American Truck Simulator. For further details, please check out our dedicated blog post.
A highlight of our trip was diving deep into the design philosophy and innovative technology that define this truck. We extend our sincere gratitude to Brian Balicki, Head of Design at Volvo Trucks North America, for providing us with fascinating insights into the development and unique features of this new model.
No SCS On The Road experience would be complete without experiencing the machine in motion. Our team had the pleasure of test-driving the Volvo VNL around the perimeter of the Customer Center. Being on the road allowed us to evaluate its handling, ergonomics, and visibility firsthand, providing us with the inspiration needed to translate that real-world feeling into our simulation.
We want to thank the entire team at Volvo Trucks North America for their warm welcome and hospitality. Partnerships like these are crucial for delivering the immersive, authentic trucking experiences our community expects. Stay tuned for more adventures by following us on X, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, TikTok, and YouTube, or by subscribing to our newsletter. We look forward to sharing more episodes soon—until then, keep on truckin’!
