Samara Weaving to Star in Olivia Wilde’s New Film
Samara Weaving has signed on to the cast of Naughty, a Christmas comedy that Olivia Wilde is directing for Universal Pictures. She will play the lover of the lead character’s ex-husband. The ensemble also includes Jennifer Aniston, Peter Dinklage, Chase Sui Wonders, Regina Hall and Ike Barinholtz.
The story follows Mallory (Aniston), who is fighting for custody of her son after a divorce. Her ex-husband (Barinholtz) proves such a nasty opponent that she decides to call an unlikely witness: Santa Claus, played by Dinklage. To persuade him to testify in court, Mallory will first have to track down Santa himself. Wonders and Hall will play her best friends.
The script was written by Jimmy Warden, the writer behind Cocaine Bear. LuckyChap, the company founded by Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara, will produce, with Wilde and Warden also serving as producers. The film is the director’s next project after the comedy Invitation. Naughty is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on November 5, 2027.
