Sabrina Carpenter turned heads at the 2026 Met Gala, arriving in a breathtaking custom Dior ensemble by Jonathan Anderson, uniquely constructed from photographic film.
“It is fashioned entirely out of film, which has been a dream of mine,” Carpenter revealed while chatting with Vogue red carpet host La La Anthony. She enthusiastically credited the creation to “the genius that is Jonathan Anderson.”
Carpenter noted that after collaborating on her Coachella wardrobe, she and the Dior team immediately began developing this cinematic piece. The garment features actual film stills from the 1954 classic Sabrina, a film the singer cites as one of her all-time favorites.
Reflecting on her recent experience headlining Coachella, Carpenter described the milestone as surreal and “electric,” adding, “I sort of blacked out during the performance, but it’s a memory I’ll cherish forever.”
When discussing the synergy between her music and personal style, Carpenter shared that she is currently embracing a bolder approach to fashion.
“At this point, I’m leaning into the philosophy that the crazier, the better,” she explained. “The risks you take always yield the most rewarding payoff.”
As for the evening ahead, the singer shared that she was most excited to connect with friends, enjoy the night’s performances, and explore the highly anticipated costume exhibit.
Carpenter’s presence at this year’s Gala is especially significant, as she joins an elite group on the host committee alongside fellow stars like Doja Cat, LISA, Sam Smith, and Teyana Taylor.
