Ryan Reynolds Rumored to Be Working on New Marvel Movie
Ryan Reynolds’ involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe may not be over. According to a claim from CartierFilms, Reynolds is writing a Marvel project centered on Alpha Flight, a Canadian superhero team. It is unclear whether the group would get its own film or play a prominent role in the next Deadpool movie.
Reynolds teased earlier this year that he would return to the MCU as Deadpool. CartierFilms also claimed that a new actor is in talks to play Wolverine and could debut in the Alpha Flight project.
What is Alpha Flight?
Alpha Flight first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #120 in April 1979. John Byrne initially created the Canadian team as part of Wolverine’s backstory, and the group later received its own series. Alpha Flight ran for 130 issues from 1983 to 1995.
Since then, the team has appeared in several miniseries, along with cameos and brief appearances, including in the What If? comic anthology.
The original members include Sasquatch, a scientist who used gamma radiation to turn himself into a giant, hairy creature, and Northstar, a mutant with superhuman speed and the ability to fly. Northstar was also Marvel Comics’ first major openly gay character.
The other original members are Snowbird, a shape-shifting demigoddess; Shaman, a magic-wielding doctor and member of the Tsuutʼina Nation; Aurora, a mutant who can turn invisible; and Guardian, the Canadian equivalent of Captain America.
More X-Men casting claims
CartierFilms also said Disney is considering Morgan Spector for a role in the upcoming X-Men film, which is scheduled for May 5, 2028. Spector is known for his appearances in television series including The Gilded Age and Homeland.
CartierFilms claimed that Cailee Spaeny auditioned to play Polaris and will appear in the film in some capacity. The report also said the film has found its Kitty Pryde and that casting is underway for an Asian female character who may be Jubilee.

Before the new X-Men film arrives, Avengers: Doomsday and its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, are expected to bid farewell to the old X-Men cast while leading into a new era of mutants.
