Across ten new episodes, the series attempts to reinvent various members of Batman’s rogue’s gallery alongside secondary players, though very few leave a lasting impression.

While the series will likely never eclipse the peerless legacy of its 1990s predecessor, Bruce Timm proves he can still strike the right creative chords. When those moments arrive, viewers can readily look past the occasional discordant note and eagerly anticipate the next movement.
All 10 episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader will be released on Prime Video on July 31.
