Post Malone on His New Bud Light Super Bowl Ad: ‘I’m Surprised They Keep Having Me Back’

Post Malone Returns for a High-Stakes Super Bowl Pursuit with Shane Gillis and Peyton Manning
Post Malone’s affinity for Bud Light is well-documented, often shared in the company of his closest circle. For his fifth appearance in a Super Bowl campaign, the genre-bending superstar is pushing the limits of his dedication to the brew in a chaotic new commercial.
Joined by comedian Shane Gillis and NFL legend Peyton Manning, Malone finds himself in a wedding day disaster. When a vendor accidentally loses control of a Bud Light keg, sending it tumbling down a mountainside, the trio embarks on a frantic rescue mission to retrieve it. Malone joked about his longevity with the brand, telling Billboard, “I’m genuinely surprised they keep inviting me back considering my antics on set. I just have too much fun.”
Reflecting on the shoot from a scenic California location, Malone noted that while his co-stars have the professional athletic builds, he brings a different kind of energy to the chase. “I’m definitely the fastest and certainly the youngest,” Malone said. “I’d like to think I’m still spry. I might creak a bit, but I’m explosive out of the gate. That explosiveness is what makes me the outlier here.”
Despite the wedding theme of the ad, Malone admits his real-life experience with nuptials is limited, having only attended two ceremonies—his father’s and that of his longtime collaborator Louis Bell. His philosophy for a successful wedding? “True love. Isn’t that a sweet answer?”
To celebrate the big game, Bud Light—the NFL’s official beer sponsor—is rolling out a nationwide $60 keg rebate for fans of legal drinking age. Beyond the television screen, Malone is gearing up for a headline performance at Fort Mason for “Bud Light Presents Post Malone & Buddies” on Feb. 6.
Fans attending the intimate show might even hear a sneak peek of his next project. “We’ve been working diligently on a massive cache of new music—about 45 songs in total,” Malone teased. “It’s a matter of finalizing everything amidst a hectic schedule, but the plan is to have new material ready by then… allegedly.”
