Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Producer Comments on Johnny Depp’s Return as Jack Sparrow

While speculation regarding Margot Robbie’s involvement persists, the possibility remains that Johnny Depp will once again don the iconic pirate tricorne.

Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer has reaffirmed his desire to see Johnny Depp reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the next Pirates of the Caribbean installment, indicating that the door remains open if the decision rests with him.

Speaking with The Direct during the Producers Guild Awards, the filmmaker addressed persistent rumors suggesting that the franchise might move forward without Depp in favor of a new lead actor.

In a previous conversation with ET, Bruckheimer effectively debunked theories that the upcoming film would center on Jack Sparrow’s son. However, he did hint that a project featuring Margot Robbie is still a distinct possibility. Ultimately, Depp’s homecoming seems to hinge on the actor’s own willingness to return. Having noted in 2023 that “anything is possible,” Depp has left fans hopeful for a potential reunion with the high-seas saga.

As for the production timeline, the official release date remains a mystery. Bruckheimer suggested that the project may arrive later than originally anticipated, noting that audiences might see Top Gun 3 hit the big screen before the sixth Pirates film sets sail.
