Patlabor: The Case Files Launches on PS5 and PC with More Than 20 Playable Labors
Good Smile Company has released Patlabor: The Case Files for PlayStation 5 and PC. The single-player action game launched on September 17, with PC versions available through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Players can pilot more than 20 Labors, including the AV-98 Ingram, Type-J9 Griffon and Type Zero. Missions revisit scenes from Mobile Police Patlabor and allow players to experience the conflict from both Special Vehicles Section 2 and its opponents.
Simulator mode and planned updates
A separate Simulator Mode offers shooting exercises and Labor battles. Chime Corporation developed the game, with supervision from Yutaka Izubuchi, Kazunori Ito and Akemi Takada.
The release supports English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean. Steam and Epic are running a 10% launch discount for the first 14 days.
Good Smile plans an October update to improve shooting accuracy in Assist Mode following feedback from the PS5 early-access period. DLC featuring Ingram Plus from Mobile Police Patlabor EZY is also in development, although a release date has not been announced.
A physical PS5 special edition includes a MODEROID Griffon model in a dedicated colour scheme that can also be used in Simulator Mode.
