Actor-director Jason Bateman (best known for Ozark) is set to helm the thriller The Partner. Tom Holland will star in the lead role.
The picture adapts John Grisham’s 1997 novel of the same name. It follows lawyer Patrick Lanigan, who steals $90 million from a client, fakes his own death, and quickly finds himself facing escalating consequences.
Universal will distribute the film. The screenplay was adapted by Academy Award-winning writer Graham Moore (The Imitation Game). No release date has been announced.
In September, Bateman’s miniseries Black Rabbit premiered on Netflix.
