Oxenfree developers and Netflix announce horror game Unhinged, playable via smartphone
Night School Studio and Netflix announced the horror game Unhinged, starring Zoë Kravitz and Sadie Sink. The game launches on June 30 and relies on smartphone controls.
Kravitz and Sink take the lead roles. Troy Baker also joins the cast, though developers have kept his character details quiet. Many speculate he plays the antagonist.
Unhinged integrates the phone into the gameplay. Players answer calls, use the flashlight, and react to events in real time. The experience lasts about an hour and mimics an intense, interactive Netflix episode.
Director Sam Warner drew inspiration from Nintendo Wii and DS games. He designed the project to highlight unconventional control schemes.
Netflix subscribers gain access to Unhinged on June 30, 2026.
