Outward: it's astonishing but the game has crossed the million copies sold

Open-world RPG available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One since March 26, 2019, Outward is a surprising game in many ways. First of all because the game was not well received by the specialized press which awarded it a mean 67% villain on Metacritic, while with us, at JEUXACTU, he had obtained a very suitable score of 14/20. The User Score is doing a little better since the game gets a nice 7.2 / 10 from the players. It is also thanks to them that Deep Silver and the studio Nine Dots Studios can congratulate themselves on having crossed the threshold of one million units sold, a success that Guillaume Boucher-Vidal, CEO of Nine Dots Studios, wasn’t really expecting. He indulged in a few confidences:

It’s hard to find the right words to express how you feel when something that seemed impossible happens to you. After the failure of our two previous games, I didn’t have very big ambitions and I told myself that if we sold 100,000 copies, it would already be a tremendous progress.

To have sold ten times more, that seems unreal to me. Outward is not a perfect game; he has a heart, but we had little money. Now we have more experience, we have an audience and we have more resources than ever. I am very excited when I think about what will come next.

In this burst of enthusiasm, the studio took the opportunity to reveal the arrival of a new DLC, The Fire Brothers, where players will have to rebuild the town of Sirrocco, after it was ravaged by a volcanic eruption. . We are told of increased difficulty, new enemies, but above all a new story! A developer diary was also published a few days ago.
