Olivia Rodrigo and Jacob Collier Deliver a Luminous A Cappella Rendition of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”
Published December 8, 2025

Olivia Rodrigo and Jacob Collier surprised listeners with an early holiday offering: a tender, all-voice arrangement of a Christmas standard whose layered harmonies reveal extraordinary care and craft. The duet’s close-knit vocal textures prompted admiration from fans — and even from some of Rodrigo’s musical heroes.
In a video shared by Collier on Monday, December 8, 2025, Rodrigo greets him with a hand-heart and asks playfully, “Hi, Jacob! How’s this?” before launching into a delicate, understated version of Bing Crosby’s “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
The song, written in the 1940s and later resurfacing on the Hot 100 (it reached No. 50 in 2021), is presented here as a hushed, intimate performance. Collier layers multiple backing vocals to create a lush, choir-like backdrop that complements Rodrigo’s warm lead.
Collier captioned the post, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas with my dear friend @oliviarodrigo,” adding a festive tree emoji.
Listeners flooded the comments with praise; among them was Sheryl Crow, who wrote simply, “Ok MIND BLOWN,” underscoring how impressed established artists were by the pair’s harmonies.
Rodrigo has frequently expressed admiration for Crow. The two crossed paths at Billboard’s Women in Music Awards in 2022, when Crow presented Rodrigo with the Woman of the Year honor — a moment Rodrigo described as deeply meaningful.
“Sheryl, I am such a massive fan of you and your songwriting and I’m so grateful that you’re here,” Rodrigo said during her acceptance speech, adding that Crow’s presence “really means the world.”
The goodwill has been mutual: Rodrigo helped induct Crow into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023, calling the experience an honor and praising Crow’s talent and kindness. Crow has commended Rodrigo as well, describing her as a talented, unaffected songwriter when speaking in 2023.
