Team Ninja has officially deployed the most substantial update to date for Nioh 3. Patch 1.04, which launched on March 10 for both PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, arrives as the studio celebrates a major commercial milestone.
Nioh 3 has successfully surpassed one million units sold. This achievement brings the total lifetime sales for the Nioh franchise to an impressive 10 million copies worldwide.
To mark the occasion, the developers are distributing a complimentary gear set to all players: the Thunderous Warrior Armor and the Thunderous Ninja Attire. These cosmetic items will automatically be delivered to the gift box of every active player, requiring no additional tasks to claim.
Beyond the free rewards, the patch introduces several gameplay refinements. The amount of “Glory” earned during cooperative missions has been increased, and players will now see a higher drop rate for equipment with superior stats within the Shogun’s Journey mode. Additionally, the developers have reduced the material costs for Soul Matching, a welcome change for those focusing on refining their endgame builds.
Technical enhancements are also part of the package. In-game cutscenes, previously capped at 30 FPS, now support a fluid 60 FPS. Furthermore, the update fixes a variety of bugs related to Martial Arts techniques, the parry system, boss encounters, and general quest progression in both main and side missions.
The release of Patch 1.04 underscores Team Ninja’s ongoing commitment to evolving the game and supporting its growing community.
