With only a short time remaining before Ninja Gaiden 4 launches on October 21, 2025, Team Ninja and PlatinumGames have confirmed the first major post-launch add-on: the DLC titled “The Two Masters,” which will broaden the game’s content.
The reveal came on the Official Xbox Podcast, where game directors Yuji Nakao and Masazaki Hirayama shared the first official details.
The expansion takes place after the events of the main campaign, offering players a new viewpoint through two characters: Ryu Hayabusa and Yakumo. Each character receives a signature weapon—Ryu gains specialized claw-style gauntlets, while Yakumo wields a colossal scythe—introducing fresh combat mechanics and diverse playstyles.
In addition to its story content, “The Two Masters” will include new post-game challenges for players who want to push beyond the “Master Ninja” difficulty. Hirayama emphasized that the team aims to deliver “enough content to keep players engaged even after they finish the main story.”
The DLC is slated for early 2026 and is included with the Deluxe Edition priced at $89.99, though it will also be available for separate purchase.
