Nikita Buyanov Announces Date for Softcore Patch — Escape from Tarkov Will No Longer Be a Hardcore Game

EFT is poised for targeted changes.

The head of Battlestate Games has suggested a tentative release window for an Escape from Tarkov update intended to streamline some gameplay elements.

Nikita Buyanov told the EFT community on social media: “Softcore changes are coming already this [week]! Around October 8.”

“Softcore” represents the opposite of hardcore — various restrictions will be relaxed. The Escape from Tarkov team has not yet detailed exactly which mechanics will be altered.

Members of the “Tarkov Meta Movement” community anticipate that softcore will bring faster skill progression and a “reduction of tedious restrictions.”
