Nidhogg Developer’s Bullet Heaven Platformer Blood Dungeon Launches Next Month
Messhof, the acclaimed studio behind Nidhogg, has officially announced that their upcoming title, Blood Dungeon, will launch on August 25. The game offers a thrilling twist on the genre by fusing precision 2D platforming with the relentless, auto-firing mechanics popularized by Vampire Survivors.
Initially unveiled during the Day of the Devs 2026 showcase, Blood Dungeon requires players to master vertical movement, leaping and scaling obstacles while continuously decimating hordes of over 100 distinct adversaries. Survival hinges on wielding an extensive arsenal of weapons bolstered by game-changing upgrades. Players can choose from nine unique characters—each boasting bespoke traits and specialized gear—across six challenging survival arenas. Furthermore, the experience is enriched by competitive online leaderboards and daily bespoke dungeons designed to test even seasoned veterans.
Blood Dungeon arrives on August 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
