New Phantom Blade Zero Trailer Reveals Donnie Yen And An Upcoming State of Play

S-Game has just unveiled an extensive look at Phantom Blade Zero, treating fans to an action-packed, 11-minute deep dive into its upcoming high-octane martial arts adventure. The footage showcases breathtaking combat choreography, bizarre and striking adversaries, and valuable narrative context that has largely been kept under wraps until now. The cinematic showcase culminates with a major announcement: legendary martial artist and actor Donnie Yen (John Wick: Chapter 4, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is joining the project. Yen will lend his likeness, voice, and motion-capture talents to the character Mó Yuan, while also serving as a core creative consultant on the game.

The scale of the action borders on the theatrical, channeling the chaotic energy of high-budget animated films or the over-the-top set pieces found in modern survival-horror classics. Interestingly, this breathless sequence isn’t even pulled from deep in the campaign. According to an accompanying PlayStation Blog post authored by S-Game founder and CEO Soulframe Liang, sword-fighting atop a runaway wagon and crossing blades with former allies like The Hunt represent merely the very beginning of protagonist Soul’s arduous odyssey.

Liang also outlined plans for a dedicated Phantom Blade Zero State of Play broadcast scheduled for next week. Airing on Monday, August 17, at 7:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM ET (and rolling into the early hours of Tuesday, August 18, for Central Standard Time viewers), the stream promises to introduce pivotal new figures central to the plot while highlighting the immense versatility players will have when crafting their customized character builds.

For those eager to dive in, pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero are officially live. Securing your copy early grants immediate access to the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit, though Liang has confirmed that both bonuses can also be unlocked organically through standard progression.
