Netflix Casts Toby Wallace in a Key Role in the Assassin’s Creed Series

The star of the film “Bikers” and the series “Euphoria” has become the first confirmed cast member for the screen adaptation of Ubisoft’s celebrated franchise.

According to Deadline, Netflix has added Toby Wallace to the cast of the Assassin’s Creed series, adapted from Ubisoft’s eponymous game franchise. The show will be one of the first large-scale live-action projects born from the streamer’s partnership with the publisher. The outlet reports that Wallace has been cast as a series regular, signaling a role of narrative importance, though it remains unclear whether he will serve as the lead in season one.

Netflix describes the series as a “high-octane thriller about a covert war between two factions — one determined to control humanity through domination, and the other committed to protecting free will.” The story will span multiple eras and introduce new characters not directly tied to the games’ protagonists.

Roberto Patino (“Westworld”) and David Wiener (“Halo”) are the showrunners. They also serve as executive producers alongside Gerard Giyimo, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones, and Matt O’Tool.

Production is scheduled for 2026 and will take place in Italy, where much of the first season is rumored to be set. The exact historical period that will anchor the narrative has not been revealed, but sources say the script intertwines past and present, much like the original game franchise.

No premiere date has been announced yet.
