Players will be able to create their own servers for the online game.

Several weeks ago, YouTube creator F0rtuno discussed preparations for a public alpha version of the multiplayer mode for the Gothic remake. This project is intended to serve as the foundation for full-fledged unofficial servers where players can journey together through the Mining Valley Rudnikov*.

Now, he has announced the release of an early version: “Alpha 0.1” of Gothic 1 Remake: Multiplayer (abbreviated as G1R: MP) is available. The content creator showcased the server browser, the online session startup process, and several gameplay examples.

While journeying through the world of the Gothic remake, the frame rate generally held steady at 60+ FPS. Meanwhile, GPU load stood at 20% to 30%, while CPU usage ranged from 7-9% up to 20% depending on the scene.

This is far from the final version of Gothic 1 Remake: Multiplayer, and the modders have not yet implemented many of their planned features. They will now review community feedback and continue working on the unofficial multiplayer mode.

Gothic 1 Remake itself continues to receive support from its developers. Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic recently released another patch for the game.

* Rudnikov Igor Petrovich is included in the register of foreign agents
