MiscFan is Developing a PC Port of Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Nearly two decades after its initial debut, Midnight Club: Los Angeles—a title that notably skipped a PC release—might finally be steering toward computers. This potential shift is being driven by a dedicated fan project aiming to deliver a complete, native PC port of the iconic Xbox 360 racer.

The endeavor kicked off in March 2025, when a lone developer announced their mission to bring this final installment of the franchise to modern desktop systems. The project relies on sophisticated recompilation techniques—essentially reconstructing the game’s original source code from compiled binaries—leveraging specialized tools like XenonRecomp and XenosRecomp.

Progress has been steady; a year into development, the team confirmed that the game could successfully launch, although functionality was initially limited to the introductory sequences.

According to the most recent progress report, the title is now fully bootable and technically in a playable state. That said, the developer has yet to share any visual evidence, such as gameplay footage or screenshots, to verify the claim. The creator emphasized that there is still a significant amount of refinement required, specifically regarding stability improvements and performance optimization to iron out persistent crashes.

As it stands, there is no projected release date or even a rough estimate for when this project might see the light of day.
